Hi All,

Currently we are working on creating webhooks for the community and we are looking for pilot customers who can help us with defining the use cases and later implementing integrations with it.

For those of you who does not know what a webhook is:
A webhook is basically a tool that pushes community information to outside servers and applications. This is triggered by events that are defined by you. Whenever that trigger event occurs on the community, the webhook sees the event, collects the data, and sends it to the endpoint specified by you.

You can use webhooks:

  • to simply get to know that an event has taken place
  • to ensure that data is in-sync across multiple web applications
  • to connect the community with other applications where an event in community would trigger an event in the application

For example:

  • set up a webhook to send a user a discount code when they gain a particular badge
  • set up a webhook to create a ticket at your helpdesk tool when a user posts a question

Is this a tool that could make your life easier and does this sound valuable to your organisation? 😀 Please get in touch with us! You can either put a comment here below or send an email to support@insided.com

Webhooks are available for communities running on our improved core platform - if you have a blue create topic button in the top left of Control, you're running on the improved core platform.

@Florian the O2 DE community isn't yet running on the improved platform so webhooks are not yet available for you to use, but if you're interested I can share more information with you (I'd also be interested to hear what your use case is :)).

@daniel.boon @Florian The o2 Community Staging Environment is on the improved platform so testing there would be possible.
