At inSided we like to work closely together with our customers. In our Innovation labs we discuss the roadmap and gather feedback on new product features. We share our roadmap: https://app.productplan.com/p/cuJv54zHDg174ML5ZgCf8u5YJsJnJi-E to show where we are working on and what’s planned in the near future. And we continuously improve our products by showing early work in progress during meetings and here on the inSpired community. The only feedback we are missing in this story is the feedback from the actual end-user. Sometimes we find feedback on the communities of our customers, like this topic: https://forum.tele2.nl/over-het-forum-327/nieuw-community-design-64822/index1.html from the Tele-2 community. But we would like to involve the end-user more often during the design process to make sure that we've designed the right solution, before we start to develop anything. Last year we had a Usability test together with one of our customers. In this usability test we invited 8

[i]Create a powerful, rich text editor for our communities.[/i] [img]49f81d26-ace7-4076-bbcc-39ca586f7324.jpg[/img]When we released our first communities years ago we believed that formatting options should not be widely available. We allowed styling through BBcode, discouraging ‘trolls’ and 'novice' users to create ugly screaming posts. Advanced users, who were willing to take the time to write long-reads, do know how to make use of the BBcodes. Times have changed, users learn and the demand for easy and usable products is high. Using BBcode does not satisfy users, therefore I'm happy to say that we are working on a new editor for our communities. In this article, I'll share insights on this process. [b]The challenge: formatting a topic or comment is painful[/b] Formatting a post requires time and effort. Common scenario’s such as inserting a list or pasting an URL can be a struggle. BBcode is sensitive to human errors such as type mistakes or unclosed tags. Only after pub

Hi all! I'm happy to announce our new responsive community design is live! https://forum.tele2.nl/ In the past few months we (and especially InSided) have been working hard to get this done. The new, fresh design has everything to attract a younger audience and new super users: more photos, engagement and gamification. We have involved super users at the start and during the project. They also made a great contribution during the final User Acceptance Test. They are as proud as we are! Cheers, Jolien [img]684b2981-deca-4f10-ae04-62e95454d1df.png[/img] [img]0c851a1e-080d-46d4-bfc1-519465bca7fc.jpg[/img]
[video]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsGkWLR%2DeTY&feature=youtu.be[/video] Up until now, the product team has been collecting your ideas through one-on-one interactions. This approach provide us a list of ideas, but not the feedback and sentiment from all of you on a specific idea. By enabling Ideas on the inSpired community, we hope to see a discussion for each idea which helps us to understand better why you would see value (or no value) in this idea. The product team will participate in this discussion and decide on a regular basis if ideas are being taken or not taken into the roadmap. As a product team, it is important to keep a focus on our strategy and keep in mind we have limited engineering power. This means that we must carefully pick what we add to our product. We hope by having Ideas on inSpired, we will have the necessary feedback that can help us to make these decisions better. What are you waiting for? Share your ideas! The first five ideas with more than 1
Hey everybody, We just released a couple of updates the last week and made some great improvements in the Control Environment. [h3]Summary of updates[/h3] [list] [*] Filter your conversations in the Private Message overview. [*] Navigate to the user profile from Private Messages [*] Search bar is visible by default in the Topic Moderation view. [*] Email link in the User overview can now open an email client or easily copy with the context menu. [/list] [h3]Details[/h3] [b]Private Messages[/b] As you build more relationships and engage with more community members, there is a need to be able to respond to your private messages efficiently. An improved private messaging experience has been introduced to help find the conversation you need and reply. By giving all the information you need will also help understand the context of the conversation. [img]c3f3bea9-8f58-4e6a-a73d-70666dbf69a8.jpg[/img] What's new? We are constantly adding new exciting features to our platform. Every time we release something new, we post about it on the inSpired community to share our excitement and get valuable feedback from you. To provide more transparency on what is coming, we have a customer facing roadmap. The roadmap shows what we are working on at the moment and what is planned for the near future. [img]31fcc6d9-7d4f-485e-985f-14e71105ff1d.png[/img] The roadmap also provides an overview on what has been released the past few months. For each feature, a block is available on the timeline. The roadmap is interactive; when clicking on a feature, you get access to a short description and if available, a link to a website that provides more information. We update the roadmap on a monthly base. You can find an up to date version here : http://bit.ly/inSidedRoadmap Let me now if you like it, or if there is something you would change about the way we represent the roadmap.
Hi everyone [img]b3817a28-464a-4bef-8999-667a97b4608d.png[/img] Just wanted to share that the OVO Forum is now live: https://forum.ovoenergy.com/ We are in week 4 of our activation plan and have just hit 100 users. We've seen a big increase this week in questions being asked by users which is a very encouraging sign. We are now busy working on plans to launch this out to our entire customer base, which is exciting but also a little scary!! We have uploaded lots of content, but are seeing some really great engagement from our user base. We now have to focus on building our potential super users and getting more traffic to the forum which is all in progress. I will keep you all posted on progress!! Darran
Hello Insided-team, Don't know if you're aware or not, but in IE11 this community site looks "sub-optimal" :yum: As you can see in the below screenshot, the menu buttons under the message-field are all white. [img]c0427374-57cb-45b4-b747-20ab2ad0f122.png[/img] Not on screenshot but also an issue: the radio-buttons on the Profile Preferences page are not shown neither (I needed to select the text to find them... Not convenient). Would be cool if you could fix that :-) Thanks, Bram PS: I know IE11 on a Windows computer is far from cool, but in a corporate environment, people don't always have a choice
A lot of our customers informed us that many of their users would like to see emoji installed in their community. It’s a great and easy way to express your emotions. As one of inSided’s goals is to humanize digital conversations, we felt that making it possible to post emoji would bring a lot of value. Emoji are a lot of fun and your community will benefit from this. Users get inspired to write creative posts incorporating emoji. It will surely boost the user engagement and the fun factor will increase as well. :yum: [img]5f5496e7-168d-467f-afb0-650bde3bcb88.png[/img] [b]How does it work?[/b] We have replaced the old emoticons with a big and diverse set of emoji. By clicking on the emoji icon in the editor the emoji set will appear. When you select an emoji, the unicode of it will appear in the text field. When the post published, the unicode will be shown as the emoji itself. Our set of emoji (unicodes) overrides the ones that can be found in iOS, Android, Whatsapp, et
Hi all, I'm very happy to announce that earlier this month we have successfully launched our US operations. In the past months we have worked hard to recruit a team, set up the administrative infrastructure and training our new employees. We have already launched 'under the radar' on January 9th, but today was the big announcement. You might have seen the press release and blog post come by, if not: [list] [*] http://www.emerce.nl/nieuws/insided-opent-kantoor-new-york (Dutch) [*] https://medium.com/@wouterinsided/insided-usa-hq-in-new-york-entry-into-north-american-market-339ec2bbdfbf#.fa7n957lr (English blog post by our CTO & Co-founder Wouter) [/list] We are all very excited for inSided to make this next step and believe it offers a great opportunity for our company to grow further and get more awesome brands on board to build successful communities with. It will also help us better to work with brands that (partly) operate in the US timezone such as Sonos and Soundclou
At inSided we’re continuously improving our architecture. At the moment, this is done by the Development team who are working on decoupling which is a new way of building software. We are working on transitioning from a monolithic system to a distributed system by splitting our software in smaller pieces called MicroServices. Basically, the different squads can work on MicroServices independently. This will help the squads work faster because smaller services are easier to understand and modify without risk of breaking other parts of the system. The coolest part about this approach is that is very scalable allowing exponential growth in our infrastructure resources. This means we can serve all of you even more effectively! Monolithic systems are riskier because if an issue can issue can affect the entire system. Instead now with deploying MicroServices, if a small service were to go down, we have components like CircuitBreaker to protect the communication on the system. The
Communities thrive when users feel appreciated. A simple way to do this is by liking a post. We see this happening a lot, and we want to increase these acts of appreciation. Therefore we have made it possible to now also show who has actually liked a post. Once a post is liked, the three users that most recently liked it are directly shown along with their avatars. When you hover over the avatars (or click on mobile) you get to see the complete list of people who liked the post. Clicking names will direct you to their profiles. Like this post and see what happens. What do you all think? ------------------------------------- If you would like to install the Show Likes-feature on your community, create an order by submitting a change request to: email@example.com Please be aware that this feature is only available for customers that are on the Responsive Template. We're kicking off our Unified Platform strategy with a major overhaul of our category page. The fixed, table-based design is replaced with a lean and tightly structured list view design. The new set-up has been extensively tested with customers and end-users. It puts more emphasis on the topics and its authors, while our mobile first approach guarantees that user will have a seamless experience on any device. Our interaction research has shown that users are now more enticed to contribute, vote on topics and are overall more engaged. Additionally, you can now add a specific hero/header image to the top of every category page. This way you can give a unique context for every category. You can already experience this new view here on inSpired, but also in the Sonos community. See the [url=https://community.insided.com/news-updates-16/the-sonos-community-just-got-a-re-design-47/]topic[/url] created by Kenneth. --------------------------------------------------- To install the l

A few days ago our shiny new community designs went live. A big part of the project was transitioning to responsive templates, but we also wanted to align with the latest Sonos visual style as well as implement a number of UX improvements that our users have been asking for since we first went live in August 2015. Some of the requests we incorporated into the designs were around making better use of space on each page, having more useful 'active since last visit' and 'search results' overviews, making it easier to see which topics are unread (the titles are now bold) and much more. We also love having the ability to 'feature' topics on the homepage in a beautiful visual way. We think it's a big improvement. http://en.community.sonos.com/ https://de.community.sonos.com/ A big thank you to everyone on the inSided team who worked with us to make it happen! Since we like to introduce all new community projects on inSpired, I would like to fill you in on inSpired too. This topic gives insights on why we launched the community, what you can expect here and who we will invite to join. As all projects start, we started by creating an objective for the community which resulted in: [i]We like to empower you as a customer, by creating a thriving community to connect you with peers and inSided, share knowledge and give your input that enables you to build better communities.[/i] When I got in touch with some of you before launching this community, you gave me many reasons why this community would be interesting for you. The main reasons I heard were: [list] [*] Sparring / problem solving - Talk to peers that encounter the same issues and have the same questions on a daily basis. [*] Follow inSided - What are we working on? What can you expect / what went live recently [*] Platform experience - Experience modules/functionalities [
Hello everyone, I am Hugo Fraga, and I am the project manager of the recently launched Fórum NOS. NOS is a Portuguese Telco, working on fixed and mobile sollutions, I am glad I met some of you guys in the great InSpired event, and I believe we will learn a lot together. We have just launched our new community at NOS. This project took us around 1 year from the scratch until the launch. It has involved several teams and more than 70 people. Our aim is to empower clients, and bring us closer to them, by being the more relevant, rich, fast and simple online help channel to solve questions and share experiences. After 12 days, we have some big numbers that we would like to share: (note: We have not yet communicated it) :D [list] [*] + 2.300 registrations [*] + 42.000 pageviews [*] + 240 unique topics created [*] + 900 interactions [*] 26 answers marked as "correct" [*] + 550 likes [*] We already have users in the 2nd degree of the gamification ladder [/list]
Hi all, In the next three weeks, we will work on some improvements/additions to your community. In this topic you can read about what's coming up. We have been working on a new design for the homepage, based on our last month's experience and internal feedback. With this, I am happy to show the newest design to you [url=https://d3vv6lp55qjaqc.cloudfront.net/items/2r2j322O1P4732163f1U/Versie-12-Desktop@2x.png]Homepage design[/url] Most important is that we wanted to make it more dynamic and personal. Therefore we removed the static boards all the way to the top, to make them less prominent but still keep them for navigation. On top of the page, you directly see who's been online recently. In recommended topics, we now added media and #comments & #likes, and we are aiming to replace the third recommended topic by your latest favorite activity. The rest of the page will stay the same. On the platform there is the possibility to create HTML e-mails, so you have nicely st
