Can we filter Active Since Last Visit by forum category?

One of our UI testers would like to have this feature. I was wondering if it’s possible to implement? Here’s his feedback:

 

I can see two ways of reading the forum: 1) I want to look at "Active since last visit" and then look at various areas, or 2) I could choose a forum area like "Got a question" and then choose to look at only posts that are "Active since last visit."

 

In both cases, as I'm looking at a list of posts, I would want to see both the area and the criteria prominently displayed so that I would know what I had excluded.  And if I was looking at "Got a question" and "active since last visit" I would like to be able to immediately change to all posts in "Got a question" with a simple selection.

Hello @alexandra.culler this is very interesting indeed. We are actually investigating how we can improve that feed of topics on the homepage and what options we could have to sort and filter.

I'm also tagging @Ati our designer so we can share concepts why you when we are ready.
