The in-page widget enables you to display community content directly within any page on your website. If you’ve already followed the instructions to install the conversational widget (adding your embed code to pages of your website and setting up your trusted domains in Control), then you’re already halfway there. Since you need to define where the in-page widget should be inserted on your webpages, it requires a little bit more effort to set up. It’s still really straightforward; you just need to add a tiny bit of HTML to your page.

How To Install The In-page Widget On Your Website

The instructions below repeat some of the steps to install the conversational widget on your website. If you already followed that guide, then skip steps 1-5 and go straight to step 6.

  1. Go to Control Integrations  EMBEDDABLE WIDGET Installation.
  2. Press Copy code to copy your unique embed code to your clipboard.
  3. Paste this code just before the closing body tag on all pages of your website where you want to display the in-page widget.
  4. Go to Control Integrations  EMBEDDABLE WIDGET Setup.
  5. Add the domains of the websites you want to install the widgets on under Trusted domains, and press Save changes.
  6. ✨ Across all the pages where you want to display the in-page widget, add a new div container with the following value in the id attribute: insided-in-page-widget (check out this example).
  7. On page load, the in-page widget will now automatically display within the container you defined.

🎯 We recommend you test the insertion of the in-page widget beforehand (for example, through a staging environment), so you know exactly how it’ll appear on your website.

💎 Currently, the in-page widget enables you to display up to three topics within the page at once.

⚠️ The embeddable widgets only display if content is found for the current page (to avoid your users seeing a blank widget). If no automatic topic suggestions are found for a page that you want to display the widgets on, use our content configuration tool to pin some topics in the widget for that URL.

🎯 Only want the in-page widget to be displayed? You can do that! Just follow this How To.

Hmm, the other instruction topic (https://community.insided.com/got-a-question-38/conversational-widget-faq-630/index1.html#post3174) mentioned that the widget shows 25 topics and this can't be modified. Here however maximum of 3 topics is mentioned.

We added 2 pinned topics and the auto-suggestions for our in-page widget but as you can see the amount of topics shown is way too much. It would be preferable to be able to set the maximum amount.
